It uses a fixed wavelength LED and a silicon photo detector to provide the accuracy of professional instrumentation at a fraction of the cost. Operating with an adaptation of the EPA Diazotisation method 354.1, the reaction between nitrite and the reagent creates a pink tint in the sample, which the checker measures with high resolution and accuracy.
